Wienerberger launches Load Builder service

A new online service from Wienerberger is designed to help merchants maximise their brick offering and better manage their stocks and costs. PBM reports.

Following a number of recent changes to its senior management team and recognition from its customers through supplier awards from the likes of Travis Perkins and FORTIS, Wienerberger is continuing its focus on merchant support with the launch of Load Builder — an innovative new service designed to help builders’ merchants manage their brick stock and storage space with a quick and easy to use online tool.

Load Builder offers the supplier’s merchant customers the opportunity to create a bespoke load by mixing and matching products from a wide selection of facing bricks, engineering bricks and special shaped bricks to fit their requirements. Merchants are able to select smaller quantities of each product, allowing them to order a wider range of product in more manageable loads to suit their yard capacity.

Users simply select one of the hubs from Wienerberger’s national network and build their own custom load from the options available. The company explains that the stock at each hub has been chosen based on local market requirements and includes bricks manufactured at different locations, not just the nearest factory, so a variety of products are available to customers.

This means that a mixed-load delivery can be transported from one location in a single vehicle, helping with efficiency, shortening lead times and reducing its carbon footprint.

By using Load Builder, merchants are said to benefit from greater flexibility when ordering stock in addition to having the opportunity to stock a wider variety of bricks and the ability to have better control over their costs. Furthermore, the tool prevents merchants from having to purchase more stock than they require, which can take up valuable yard space and increase capital costs. Wienerberger says this also gives merchants the chance to experiment with different products by ordering them in smaller quantities.

With a solution that is described as being as simple as shopping online — users build their mixed load online, enter a few details and await a prompt follow up quote from the supplier’s customer services team — Load Builder makes the brick ordering process even easier for merchants and is said to reflect Wienerberger’s company-wide commitment to “driving performance through technology”.

Richard Brown, Category Marketing Manager for Wall products at Wienerberger, commented: “We developed Load Builder to help our merchant customers tackle the three big issues they face — product offering, space restrictions and cost control. Our service enables merchants to offer a wider variety of bricks, whilst keeping their costs to a minimum and generating the best return on their yard space. We’re really excited about the launch of Load Builder and look forward to hearing feedback from our customers.”
