Border expands web development offering

Border Merchant Systems has announced that its parent company, Hermitage Innovation Group (HIG), has recently completed the acquisition of web development company, Wkdcode Ltd.

Wkdcode delivers web and e-commerce projects and is described as having significant Magento expertise, which will be added to what is available via Stratus 21, Border’s existing web development business.

This will give Border access to 14 full time UK based web developers working on e-commerce and web development in the Group. Part of the strategy will be to offer this additional service to Border customers on a bespoke basis, but also to accelerate Border’s integrated B2B web development.

Border has been working with merchants for more than 20 years and has been developing web trading sites for the last three. Border’s knowledge and experience of the requirements that merchants have, is said to make them well placed to provide trading websites that can help deliver additional revenue and that can be managed and maintained by the merchant.

Commenting on the acquisition, Group MD of HIG, Paul Deane, said: “The Wkdcode business has seen solid growth over the last 5 years and we hope that with the support of our Group we can see that growth accelerate. Wkdcode brings the number of software companies in the Group to five and is evidence of our determination to grow and build a significant web development resource to help Border’s customers to develop their own unique businesses.”
