Double boost for Huws Gray

Huws Gray, one of the sector’s fastest-growing builders’ merchants, has announced a pair of acquisitions to add to its expanding branch network.

In separate transactions, Huws Gray has acquired North West-based Southport Timber as well as Wheelers Timber and Builders Merchants based in Erdington, north Birmingham.

It’s been a busy year for Huws Gray as the company has expanded to new regions of the country with acquisitions in Cumbria and Lancashire completed earlier this year.

Managing Director Terry Owen commented: “These latest acquisitions of well-known and respected companies in the industry are a perfect fit for us to strengthen and expand our branch network. We are looking forward to working alongside the existing teams and investing in both sites by enhancing the stock offering and refurbishing the shop and yard area.”

Huws Gray states that it has an ambitious growth plan in place as it seeks to further strengthen its presence in the UK.

Terry added: “There have been many milestones in our 28 years in business, and 2018 is certainly one of them. It’s been a special year for us and highlights the beginning of our next stage of growth.”
