Golf Classic enters final stages

The Golf Classic 2018 is entering the final stages of the competition and is set to be one of the most competitive with players boasting handicaps ranging from 0 to 20.

Held at Slaley Hall, the resort’s Hunting Course is a European Tour venue and is known as the ‘Augusta of the North’. Situated in glorious countryside, Slaley Hall is described as the perfect setting for the finalists to put their golfing prowess to the test.

The Golf Classic is said to be an excellent opportunity for professionals working in the UK construction industry to challenge their golf skills, make friends and forge business contacts. This year plumbing and heating engineers, builders, architects, and electrical contractors, amongst other trades and professions, were represented.

Through to this years’ final are Spencer Gilbert and Cliff Evans from MAB Commercial Contracts. Cliff and Spencer won their semi-final in what was described as a very enjoyable game for both teams.

They said: “We had a fantastic round of golf, which was close at the end and couldn’t have asked to have played against a better pairing than Ollie and Robert. It made the round a pleasure to play.”

The final will take place on the 28 September and the winners will take home a trophy along with Pro Shop vouchers. There will also be prizes for the Runner-up, Nearest the Pin and the Longest Drive, with all finalists enjoying a gala dinner, prize giving, and luxury stay at Slaley Hall.
