Installer wins van with Velux

A Perth window installer has won a new van after scoring highest in an interactive game played during the Velux 2016 Tour, which travelled the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland promoting the new Velux white-painted roof window range.

Keven Townsley scooped the top prize after scoring the highest points during the “Fill it to win it” game which was open for entry during the tour, which visited 254 different venues between March and July.

Keven picked up his new Vauxhall Vivaro van, worth over £20,000, from Peter Vardy Vauxhall Perth on Friday 2nd September, before visiting MKM Building Supplies Perth, where he entered the competition in May this year.

The UK tour gave over 10,000 window installers and suppliers a first look at the new window range, launched to match contemporary tastes for bright and light interiors.

The range was developed in response to increasing demand from homeowners, installers and suppliers for an alternative to the traditional pine roof window. The white painted surface is said to reflect more natural light than darker surfaces and matches other interior finishes better.

Andrew Lumsden, Marketing Manager at Velux commented: “We’re really pleased to see Keven take home the top prize after a well contested competition which saw thousands of installers and suppliers trying their very best to score highly during the game.

“Over the course of the tour we’ve been able to engage with the broader Velux network and gather positive feedback from suppliers and installers regarding our new white-painted offering. We know that there’s strong demand from homeowners for a roof window which can match demand for bright and light interiors.”

Keven, of M Philips Joinery said: “I’m delighted to have won a brand new Vauxhall Vivaro van with Velux, who I have a strong relationship with. Travelling across the country is an integral part of my work, so the new van will be indispensable as I visit customers.”

Offering a matt white finish, the roof windows are triple coated with water-based lacquer and a high quality UV resistant white paint, ensuring that the windows remain low maintenance. Every component of each frame is individually painted which is said to ensure a consistent and resilient finish.
