Merchant sector’s Marathon runners

A number of individuals from in and around the merchant sector took part in this year’s London Marathon, raising tens of thousands of pounds for their nominated charities. We salute the endeavours of all who took part, and catch up with just a few the other side of the finishing line.

PBM’s Group Advertisement Manager Craig Jowsey ran to raise money for the NSPCC and its ChildLine service. Finishing in a time of 3:59:12, Craig said: “I’m absolutely buzzing, but my legs are in bits! It was the toughest challenge yet, but the most rewarding — the crowd were amazing and got me through.”

Simon Chivrall from Covers’ Chichester branch raised £2,083 for the charity Children with Cancer UK. He said: “It’s a great achievement to have completed the London Marathon and I am very proud to support such an amazing charity that provides important care to so many families in incredibly difficult situations.”

Jamie Pierce, Parker Building Supplies’ Marketing Manager, and Stewart Pierce, the merchant’s Financial and Commercial Director, were also amongst the 38,000+ runners to tackle the gruelling 26.2 mile route, raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust and Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
