Travis Perkins plc named a UK Top Employer

Travis Perkins plc has been named a Top Employer in the UK for a ninth consecutive year by the Top Employers Institute.

The annual Top Employer award recognises market leading employers who provide exceptional employee conditions. The Top Employers Institute assessed Travis Perkins on everything from employee wellbeing to the learning and development opportunities on offer. Through their assessments, it was determined that Travis Perkins provides exceptional employee conditions, develops talent from across the business and makes employee wellbeing a priority.

Our comprehensive research concluded that Travis Perkins plc provides an outstanding employment environment and offers a wide range of creative initiatives, from secondary benefits and working conditions, to performance-management programmes that are well thought out and truly aligned with the culture of their company.”

Employee development is a top priority at Travis Perkins, asserts the company. A clear example of this is shown by the industry-leading work it is doing around training and apprenticeships. Planned apprenticeship activity in 2018/19 will see around 1200 individuals, from across the company, start new apprenticeship programmes. The focus of this it to help existing and new employees develop their knowledge and skills.

Travis Perkins is also committed to helping individuals from all walks of life launch and develop careers within the sector. For example, since the start of 2017, approximately 275 service leavers have been recruited across the Group via a proactive ex-Armed Forces recruitment programme. Travis Perkins also had the great honour of being recognised for its work supporting the Armed Forces with a Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver award, granted in recognition of its approach to recruiting and developing Armed Forces personnel.
