Marsh Industries
Portapura sewage treatment plant
Marsh Industries has launched a range of portable sewage treatment plants for temporary office blocks, portable buildings and small commercial premises. Branded Portapura, the new range of units are described as having “a clear advantage” over typical wastewater options for temporary sites in that they are portable, compact and provide discharge that is reportedly 25 times better than the EN standard. This means effluent discharge can be made directly to a watercourse or a correctly designed drainage field.

Portapura can be installed above or below ground in as little as two hours without the need for heavy plant, concrete and shuttering, providing substantial cost and health and safety benefits.

Tested to BS EN 12566 part 3 over a three year period at PIA GmbH test centre in Aachen, Germany, the range exceeds UK and European Standards, meaning a unit can also be used to replace inadequate septic tanks in accordance with forthcoming Environment Agency ‘General Binding Rules’ for septic tank discharges, effective on 1stJanuary 2020.

MD, Steve Boyer, commented: “With clear design objectives we have managed to achieve the smallest, most portable and best performing unit with a low carbon footprint and low life-cycle costs. The system has also been welcomed by holiday park owners and leisure sites, already proving that it is a unique, cost-effective and space-saving solution.”

Wiseman Industries
Everflo & Dambuster
With news of ‘fatbergs’ appearing in the nation’s sewers becoming ever-more regular, Wiseman Industries argues that prevention through regular maintenance is crucial. The build-up of limescale, grease, verdigris, hair and other organic matter is how drain blockages start. However, they can be dissolved and removed with a drain descaler and flow improver — and there are numerous tell-tale signs to assess where problems have arisen.

CEO Harvey Wiseman says: “We advise those in the trade that keeping drains free flowing at all times keeps blockages at bay. Having good drain health reduces the chances of bigger blockages that can lead to flooding. Our descaler and flow improver product ‘Everflo’ sits alongside ‘Dambuster’, our strong drain clearer. Everflo dissolves and removes limescale, build-up of grease, verdigris, hair and other organic matter (and) our family of products are manufactured to work together ensuring the optimal solution.”
