50 up for MKM

MKM has opened its milestone 50th branch, moving into the spa town of Leamington.

The milestone 50th branch is now open and was marked with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony, hosted by MKM’s Founder and Executive Chairman, David Kilburn. There were special gifts on the day for the branch’s first customers and turn-out was strong from local trades and public.

There’s an 18-strong team of local people on hand at the new branch to advise customers on their every project and product need. Customers can expect everything from building, heating and plumbing supplies, through to landscaping and timber, all on site. The new branch also boasts a kitchen and bathroom showroom, showcasing state-of-the-art designs to suit a range of budgets.

MKM was founded in 1995 by Hull businessman David Kilburn. The independent merchant’s expansion has taken on a significant momentum over the past year, with the roll out of seven new branches. This strategic growth initiative has taken the merchant into uncharted territory, namely Honiton, Devon – and now Warwickshire with the new Leamington branch.

Brothers Paul and David Warren are the Juno Drive site’s Branch Directors. David said: “Being the milestone 50th branch, MKM Leamington Spa will epitomise what the business is all about: local people providing unrivalled service to local people, with incredible product ranges and prices.”

“The company has built up an enviable reputation as an independent, locally-focused merchant – and that’s why MKM Leamington Spa intends to get involved wherever possible. We can’t wait to meet all of our new customers.”

David Kilburn, Executive Chairman, said: “Having established MKM over 21 years ago, it’s with unbelievable pride that we are opening our 50th national branch – and Royal Leamington Spa couldn’t be a nicer town in which to mark this achievement. It’s only thanks to the fantastic work of everyone across our branch network that we’ve been able to reach this milestone.”
