British Gypsum: Speed is of the essence

Claimed to set 50% faster than standard skim finish plaster, British Gypsum has announced the launch of its latest high-performance fast setting skim finish plaster — ThistlePro FastSet Finish.

Developed to offer “the same premium standard” as its range of high-performance ThistlePro products, British Gypsum says its ThistlePro FastSet Finish comes with the added value of a setting time 50% less than standard skim finish plaster. This, the company contends, will enable plasterers to complete projects faster and increase their potential to earn more money.

With a quick setting time, ThistlePro FastSet Finish delivers an “all-in-one bag solution that has been tried and tested to ensure that it performs to the high standards of the leading manufacturer”. It also removes the need for additives and hacks — which can reduce product performance and void warranties — and helps plasterers to achieve a consistent faster-setting time and finish.

Paul Cassidy, Product Portfolio Development Director, said: “As the UK’s leading manufacturer of high-performance drylining solutions, we are committed to providing our customers with a range of products that help meet the requirements of the vast projects they are applied to.

“Following feedback from a survey we carried out last year, it became clear that more of our customers would prefer to work with a finishing plaster that has a faster setting time, with many of them already using something similar several times a week. As a result of this, we are pleased to launch the first skim finishing product on the market with a setting time of 60 minutes and provide our customers with an option that has been designed to allow installers to work more efficiently.”

British Gypsum’s ThistlePro range also features ThistlePro PureFinish, ThistlePro DuraFinish and ThistlePro Magnetic, which are designed to provide better indoor air quality, a more durable finish and the option of creating interactive spaces.
