Buildbase launches apprentice training programme

Buildbase has announced, during National Apprenticeship Week, that it has teamed up with Interserve Learning & Employment to deliver its ‘Building for Your Future’ training programme.

Interserve has been delivering apprenticeship and training service to Grafton Group, Buildbase’s parent company, for the past two years and will now extend the service to the builders’ merchant.

Buildbase’s ‘Building for Your Future Academy’ will be delivered by Interserve to ensure current employees working across the company will have access to a training programme which support learners’ career progression from sales advisor through to store managers and even into regional roles.

The first 50 leaners will benefit from Interserve’s expert training to ensure that employees are able to unlock their potential and prepare for the next stage in their career. Interserve will help learners to complete a Team Leader Supervisor Level 3 (ILM) or an Operational Departmental Manager Level 5 (ILM) qualification.

Adrian Rowley, Learning & Development Manager at Buildbase, said: “We are making a significant investment in our colleagues because we believe that by doing so we are increasing our capability as people, as teams and as a business.

“The Building for Your Future programme is built around the way Buildbase actually works. We’ve designed it from a day-to-day view, so learners have real-life training for a real-life role – that’s what’s so great about the programme.

“Interserve Learning & Employment has an excellent track record delivering quality training provision across Grafton Group and we are delighted to be working with them again on the Building for Your Future programme.”

Interserve and Buildbase work in partnership to ensure employees are fully trained and supported throughout the programme and will provide a more comprehensive training.

Jennifer Munslow, National Strategic Account Manager, Senior Training Development Officer at Interserve Learning & Employment, added: “We have a long working relationship with Grafton Group and this new contract with Buildbase to deliver its Building for Your Future training programme is a real endorsement of the quality training we have delivered.

“The apprenticeship programme will create the next generation of the company’s management professionals to ensure Buildbase continues to deliver the best customer experience. In addition, we are working with Buildbase through each module to align the learning content with Buildbase’s key strategic objects relating to performance and staff engagement.”
