Builders Merchant Company appoints two apprentices

Builders Merchant Company Ltd (BMCo) is continuing the ongoing support and development of young people with the appointment of two additional apprentices to the company.

Antony and Joe have joined the Hull and Rotherham teams and it is hoped they will continue the successful history of internal development that has taken place in recent years.

Within the last three years the company has had four successful candidates complete apprenticeships, of which three have successfully attained full time roles within the BMCo family, the other leaving to continue work within the construction industry.

Duncan Thomson, Managing Director, said: “We are very proud of the work we are doing to try and attract people to join the merchant industry, and to be able to help these young people achieve their goals and develop a career path for themselves is something we take great pride in.”

This ongoing development is supported by the recent launch of a Graduate Programme, with BMCo planning to continue to support the development of staff within the company and the industry.
