CTS wins five-year contract with Travis Perkins

Modernisation expert Cloud Technology Solutions (CTS) has won a five-year contract with Travis Perkins plc to help improve its use of Google Workspace and drive further tech adoption across the £7 billion turnover organisation.

The partnership will see CTS, Europe’s largest dedicated Google Cloud partner, work alongside a small internal team to drive value from Travis Perkins’ Google Workspace – formerly known as G Suite. The work will ensure Travis Perkins, which is the UK’s largest supplier of building materials and owner of the Travis Perkins builders’ merchants, Toolstation, Wickes and a range of other specialist trade businesses, maximises value from the system across the organisations.

Travis Perkins has agreed on a two-year contract for CTS’s customer success service (CSS) as well, which will see the team continuously assess the performance of Workspace across the Travis Perkins group, and make recommendations for areas of improvement.

The contract will also see CTS help to explore a longer-term cloud technology strategy and roadmap for the use of Google Cloud Platform more extensively.

Travis Perkins plc employs 28,000 people and operates more than 20 businesses in the UK, and Matt Greaves, who is Technology Director of the company, said: “We were an early adopter of G Suite back in 2013 and have made good use of the core functionality over the last seven years. We intend to redouble our efforts to maximise the value of the additional capabilities that Google Workspace now offers, such as Data Loss Prevention, Mobile Device Management, etc as well as enabling improved collaboration across our Group of companies by coaching all colleagues to get the best out of the tools. We selected CTS as our new partner as they were able to demonstrate that they understood organisations of our scale and seemed a good fit for our culture.”

Daniel Ackers, Senior Account Manager for retail at CTS, said: “Google Workspace can be used in a multitude of different ways and most businesses require a different approach. To maximise value from the platform, and build a long-term, modern IT strategy, it’s important organisations identify how they can take full advantage of the services it offers and value it brings to the business.

“This is an exciting project for us to work with a major UK brand to improve and leverage the value of Google Workspace, while paving the way for future adoption of cloud technology.”
