Lords Builders Merchants celebrates 20th anniversary

Lords Builders Merchants has marked 20 years of activity at its Park Royal branch.

Founded in 1985, the Lords Group has followed an extensive growth plan across all divisions. Its builders’ merchant operataion, Lords Builders Merchants, currently operates from 12 branches across West London and the Home Counties with more expansion plans in place.

The branch at Park Royal opened in 2001 and was the first heavyside location in the business. Since then, it has expanded into a three-acre site with three buildings covering 30,000 square feet to become “a key building materials distributor in West London.”

While the branch extended and the wider business has grown exponentially, the culture is said to have remained the same. Managing Director Jamie Herd, who has been part of Lords Builders Merchants since the very beginning in 2001, said: “People have always been and will always be at the centre of the company. We focus on building long-lasting relationships with customers and employees alike, preserving the family culture we started with.”

Shanker Patel, the CEO of Lords Builders Merchants (and pictured addressing a celebratory event at Park Royal), said: “We are very thankful for the loyal customers who’ve been part of the journey since its beginning in 2001 and the new customers that trusted our services and joined along the way.

“We also want to show our appreciation for all our employees along the years, from the lads in the yard, the drivers, the salespeople to the management team. The excellent customer experience they provided contributed massively to the business growth.”

“With the current expansion plans we look forward to celebrating new milestones together with our colleagues and customers.”

Lords Group Trading recently listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange, whilst Lords Builders Merchants added the former Nu-Line branch in west London to its ranks in August.
