Saint-Gobain launches self-build website

With the number of self-builders growing in the UK at a reported rate of nearly 8%, self-building may soon represent more than 10% of the UK construction market as even more consumers aspire to one-day build their own dream home. With this in mind, Saint-Gobain has created an advice, information and inspiration website (build.saint-gobain.co.uk) to help guide self-builders through the process of self-building.

From finding and financing land to navigating the planning system, the site guides self-builders with easy to understand information, advice and resources to help make the self-build journey seem a little less daunting. The website also presents advice on the types of build methods available to self-builders, how to manage designers and contractors, and how to create a home that will be comfortable and enjoyable all year round.

Richard Halderthay, Director Brand, Digital and Communications at Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland said: “Saint-Gobain has such a wide range of brands – including many of the most respected in the UK & Ireland. We have a huge amount of knowledge and insight on how to create fantastic performing buildings – our new website is a place where we can share this knowledge with those putting a dream into reality and building their own home.

“Self-builders will also be able to access the wide-range of services available from Saint-Gobain to help them in their self-build journey. From designing the building and producing plans, creating energy assessments, to arranging full estimation and scheduling of all materials for their home, Saint-Gobain is a one-stop shop for everything they need to self-build. Where else can self-builders find information, advice and knowledge built up over our 353 years of history!”
