Spinks donates thousands of bricks to Doncaster college

Students at Doncaster College will sharpen up their bricklaying skills thanks to a donation of around 2000 bricks from Spinks Building Supplies, based in Doncaster.

The bricks will be used by the 15 students currently training towards their Level 2 Highways and Groundworks qualification.

Steve Broom, Course Lecturer/Assessor at Doncaster College, said: “We would like to thank Spinks for the donation of bricks. The bricks will be used by the highways and groundworks level 2 students, who will learn how to raise iron work to new road levels and also for constructing manholes in the highways. The level 2 bricklayers will be constructing small cavity wall building for the joinery students’ level 2 who will then learn how to construct roof rigs before working at high levels.”

Lisa Williams, Marketing Manager at AE Spink said: “We are delighted to offer Doncaster College bricks from our Doncaster branch, and support the next generation of construction workers. Hopefully, the donation will go some way to helping the students develop their skills as they train for a rewarding career in the industry.”
