Summer expansion underway for Selco

Selco Builders Warehouse has launched a hectic summer of branch openings which it believes will cement its position as one of the UK’s fastest growing builders’ merchants.

Crayford is Selco’s 49th branch in the UK and, at the same time, has helped strengthen its presence in London and the South East of England.

The launch is the catalyst for a busy period for the business, which will see it open seven branches across the country in under 14 weeks.

Chris Cunliffe, Selco Chief Executive, said: “In terms of branch openings, this will be the busiest year in the history of Selco and the next few months will certainly be an exciting period.

“Opening in Crayford has allowed us to build on the very strong base we already have in London and the surrounding areas, and we will do that further by opening in Guildford, Camberley and Thurrock over the next few months.

“We are also very focused on extending the Selco offering to other areas of the country as well, which is why we are opening a second branch in Cardiff and venturing into new areas in Warrington and Poole.

“It’s going to be a busy period but we are more determined than ever to keep building on the success we have had over recent years and taking Selco to as many tradespeople as we can across the UK.”

The new Crayford branch has opened on Kennet Road and will feature the full Selco offering, including Selco Hire – for which thousands of products are available for seven day hire – and a comprehensive kitchen design service.

This is supplemented by a host of online opportunities including a fully transactional website, Click and Collect, the opportunity to produce Project Lists and a next day delivery courier service covering more than 6,000 produts.

In opening the new branch, Selco has emphasised its commitment to supporting the communities in which it operates by awarding £1,000 to three charities based in and around Crayford.

The beneficiaries were Shenstone Special Needs School, ellenor – which supports families with individuals facing terminal illness – and the funding of two new Macmillan Cancer Support nurse positions at Darent Valley Hospital.

Selco has supported Macmillan nationally over the last four years, raising more than £400,000 in the process.
