TFS launches CPD training centre for builders’ merchants

Trade Fabrication Systems (TFS), has recently opened a training centre at its Warrington based manufacturing facility. Targeted at builders’ merchants and sales staff, TFS is hosting seminars to educate the market on the value add and profitability potential of embracing processing methods with a ‘processing partner’, utilising their own stock.

The company has launched a new facility that enables builders’ merchants to explore the benefits of processing to add value to timber substrates and improve overall product offering. When attending a CPD seminar at the facility participants will be provided with valuable insight into the scope of services that TFS can offer.

With the ability to process virtually any timber substrate in-house, TFS is sharing its expertise with builders’ merchants across UK and Irish markets, helping them to better understand the potential of utilising off-site processing. Following a £500k year-long investment programme, TFS has recently expanded its service offering, as well as improving and extending internal operations.

Long-term partner, BSW Timber recently used the new facility to host a training session on its IRO Timber range, which is processed by TFS – helping to make the product scalable for mainstream manufacture.

James Brennan, Marketing Manager at BSW Timber, commented: “It’s vitally important that we share our knowledge of off-site processing and the benefits of pre-finished products with the wider team at BSW – and the new facilities at TFS allowed us to do just that. The training centre gave us the opportunity to discuss our new projects, while the factory tour allowed us to understand the capabilities of each machine and how to add further value to product ranges.”

Howard Morris, Managing Director at TFS, said: “Following our recent investment programme, we have substantially enhanced our processing facilities. People are the backbone to successful business, and training is a fundamental requirement to development and a driver of industry change. Recognising this, we invested in a training centre and seminar programme to educate the industry on our capabilities, hoping to spark inspiration for builders’ merchants to retain their buying power and control of substrates whilst enabling TFS to ‘add value’ into the supply chain. A win-win for both parties!”
