Wood Campus Award in Timber Merchanting launches

Ever since training began to be delivered online there has been demand for a properly accredited industry qualification. Last year Wood Campus members began work on such a qualification and now for the first time an accredited industry certificate is available online.

The Wood Campus Award in Timber Merchanting is a real first, says the company. It’s the first globally accessible, online award programme and is delivered through an approved centre and accredited by OA – a leading industry awarding body.

New team members can now kick start their careers with a recognised qualification, with ProSkills-OA able to deliver a smart certificate ready for framing upon completion.

The programme provides credits known as recognised prior learning towards further qualifications such as NVQs including apprenticeships, meaning less time needs to be spent away from the workplace.

This programme covers product, technical and legislation and has a separate section on working in the merchant environment.

18 Topics in four sections cover:

  • Wood: The Sustainable Building Material
  • Understanding Timber Products
  • Products and Sizing
  • Working in the Merchant Environment
