Following an investment in excess of £500k, Chandlers Roofing Supplies is planning to open a brand new branch with a ‘drive thru’ service on Barnett Field Lane in Leatherhead.
The drive through facility is being welcomed by local roofers who can load up supplies in the dry, all year round. For example, Tim Sayers of TJS Roofing said: “It’s really great to see a new business opening up in these challenging times. We’re looking forward to visiting the new premises.”
James Palfreyman, a Leatherhead local, will manage the branch that will also be providing new local employment opportunities. He said: “We are keen to support roofers in the area, provide new local employment opportunities and get everyone back to work. Uniquely we will have a drive thru facility. This will allow roofer customers to collect supplies in the dry all year round. We are looking forward to opening, in line with government guidelines, by mid-May.”
Chandlers is now part of the 37-branch, c£180m turnover Independent Builders Merchant Group, alongside Parkers Building Supplies, Fairalls, and Stamco Timber. Speaking on behalf of the IBMG, Sue McKinney said: “This is really good, positive news for Leatherhead, particularly at the moment. From speaking with the trades over recent weeks it is very clear that they are keen to get back to work. There is no doubt that new openings like this help build support and confidence in the local economy.”
