Superglass Insulation enlists the support of Grand Designs’ Kevin McCloud

Superglass has unveiled its new marketing campaign, featuring a brand film starring Grand Designs’ Kevin McCloud.

The film, titled ‘The Walk,’ has been produced to underpin the company’s position as a pioneering manufacturer of glass mineral wool products and — with its products made from up to 84% recycled glass — showcasing the sustainability ethos of the business.

This is a matter that is very important to Kevin, who holds an honorary fellowship from the Royal Institute of British Architects and who is a passionate advocate of sustainable building design. In the film, he highlights the Superglass journey from the firm’s roots in Stirling to the modern, lean manufacturing practices that define its products today.

Shot on location in the Ochil Hills, just outside Stirling, Kevin endorses the brand’s contribution to environmental performance, whilst praising the societal benefits based on the company’s commitment to the wider Stirling community.

Superglass has been manufacturing glass mineral wool insulation in Stirling for more than 30 years states that “sustainability is at the core of the business.” With its products made from up to 84% recycled glass, this reduces waste glass to landfill and saves valuable resources whilst, over its lifetime, glass mineral wool insulation is said to typically saves up to 200 times the energy used in its manufacture and transport to make it extremely effective from an energy efficiency point of view.

Commenting on the collaboration, Kevin McCloud said: “Loved working with Superglass. Great and dynamic firm with very strong community connections. They are constantly working on the sustainability profile of the business – across every one of their activities – using lean processes, less energy, more and more recycled waste and their own waste feedback loops in the factory. It’s very satisfying to see.”

Theresa Mclean, CEO at Superglass, added: “This campaign marks a new chapter for Superglass as we continue to build on our commitment to sustainability and innovation. We are immensely proud of our roots in Stirling and our ability to create products that offer real benefits to the environment.

“Kevin McCloud is the perfect partner to help us tell our story, and we are excited for new and existing customers to see the hard work and dedication behind every roll of Superglass insulation. We held a premiere screening of the film at our factory for staff. The reaction from the team was incredible and we’re proud to launch the film for our new and existing customers.”

Marketing Controller Rachael Metcalfe continued “Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond our products to every part of the business, and we’re excited to showcase that to our customers and audience. To have someone of Kevin’s magnitude and experience endorse Superglass as a brand speaks volumes and really emphasises our values.”
