Graham partners with Barnardo’s

Graham Plumbers’ Merchant has chosen Barnardo’s as its new ‘together’ charity partner. The partnership ensures that Graham will promote and fundraise for Barnardo’s with the help of staff, customers and suppliers.

Barnardo’s was founded in 1866 and promotes the care of vulnerable children and young people. On average, Barnardo’s looks after 8000 children and their families by providing opportunities to develop life and work skills, fostering and adoption, early education, as well as campaigning and providing original research to lobby the Government for further support for children and young people.

For the next two years, Graham will fundraise and promote Barnardo’s while also crucially helping vulnerable young people and care leavers to gain opportunities in employment, training and skills networks within the wider Saint-Gobain business.

Ian Kenny, Marketing Director at Graham Plumbers’ Merchant, commented: “We don’t want to only raise awareness and funds for Barnardo’s but with the help of Saint-Gobain, provide a platform for these young people to attain valuable work experience and connections. Our aim is that these young people will get to know more about the construction industry, with the hope that they choose a career within it.”

The ‘together’ charity programme, which started in 2002, has raised £3.2 million to date with a range of partners including Help the Hospices and Macmillan Cancer Support.
