JT Dove has pledged its allegiance to a North East based charity that benefits children with heart defects from across the UK with an initial donation of £10,000.
The money was presented to Charlotte Campbell of CHUF (Children’s Heart Unit Fund) at JT Dove in Newburn by Sales Consultant Kelly Thompson. Kelly has been instrumental in the drive to raise funds.
And the £10,000 donation is just the start, as the management team at JT Dove has pledged to support the charity for 2017 too and raise another £20,000.
The funds to date have been raised by staff and customers of JT Dove, through a range of events and collection tins at all 17 of its branches across the country.
The events have included the Three Peaks Challenge, Coast to Coast rides and a Race Day held by JT Dove at which over 200 customers attended and raised over £2,000 on the one day alone.
Steve Robinson, Managing Director of the company said: “A huge well done to Kelly and all our team — we have 230 employees and many of them have worked hard to raise this money.
“We chose to help CHUF as we attended one of their fun day events and we were so impressed, we felt we could make a big difference to them. They are much like us in that they are a North East based organisation but their reach is national. The service they deliver, however, is life changing and that commands massive respect.”
CHUF raises vital funds for equipment, facilities, aftercare, salaries and research. CHUF’s charitable activities, however, go far beyond that of providing medical equipment and personnel. The Charity provides holistic care to the children by providing services and facilities that allow children to develop their skills and mature as any healthy child normally would.
