Marc Hutchinson, Yard Supervisor at the Keyline Bedford branch, has qualified as a LGV driver thanks to the company’s ‘Warehouse to Wheels’ programme and now, in addition to his yard role, he will be acting as a backup driver.
Having joined Keyline in June 2014 as a Yard Sales Assistant, Marc was promoted to Yard Supervisor within six months due to his hard work and dedication. At the time he also joined the Health & Safety Forum representing both Keyline Bedford and Yard Supervisors who are based in the region.
Having successfully completed the Warehouse to Wheels programme, Marc has received his LGV licence and is now not only running the Bedford yard team, but also acting as a backup driver for both the Civils & Drainage and Tool Hire departments. The programme is open to all Keyline branch staff and takes four to six months to complete. At the end of the course, those taking part receive a category C licence and are able to drive vehicles weighing over 3.5 tonnes.
Jason Rolph, Branch Manager at Keyline Bedford, commented: “Our team are our number one asset and we’re always keen to support hardworking colleagues. The Warehouse to Wheels programme highlights Keyline’s commitment to staff development and ensures we have quality drivers who exceed our customers’ expectations.
“Since joining Keyline, Marc has become an invaluable member of the branch team and has shown great dedication in ensuring our customers receive the best service possible. Congratulations to him for gaining his LGV licence.”
