Taking place in the luxurious surroundings of Cheshire’s Carden Park Hotel on Wednesday 22nd April, PHG – the specialist buying group for UK plumbing & heating merchants – has revealed the results of its inaugural Supplier of the Year Awards.
The Awards were announced at a Gala Dinner evening in front of approximately 250 industry guests including PHG merchant members, suppliers, BMF, NMBS and members of the trade press. PHG Chairman David Pochin took the opportunity to recap the genesis of PHG, from its origins in 2012 as dissatisfaction grew with the domination of heavyside merchants in the existing buying groups.
From that landscape, PHG has grown to encompass 21 leading independent merchant businesses with a collective 262 branches and a combined turnover of £401m.
David explained that a philosophy of offering suppliers “added value, integrity, commitment and innovation” had fuelled PHG’s development. Speaking to those gathered, he urged: “Work with us. PHG is your route to market so come and speak with us to see if our unique offer can help take our business forward and yours.”
The Supplier Awards were designed to recognise those suppliers adjudged to have gone “the extra mile” in terms of product service quality, branch level support, service sales data, promotional activity and overall support to PHG.
