Stratos MAXO pump
Designed for use in large residential and light commercial projects, the Stratos MAXO pump from Wilo is being described as “the world’s first true smart-pump”. It is said to be the first pump which has an intuitive user interface and claims to redefine system efficiency. By featuring energy-saving functions and new control modes, it attains maximum system efficiency and the highest level of compatibility with existing systems.
It features the latest sensor technology and control functions, such as Dynamic Adapt Plus and Multi-Flow Adaptation, as well as bi-directional connectivity using Bluetooth, integrated analogue inputs, binary inputs and outputs, and the Wilo Net interface.

Suitable for mezzanine floors or other high loadbearing applications, Smartply Strongdeck is the new high strength, lightweight, OSB4 panel from Medite Smartply. Using timber from its own sustainably managed forests in Ireland, Medite Smartply ensures all panels are manufactured with FSC certified timber and contain zero-added formaldehyde.
The 30mm OSB4 panel is also said to be ideal for use in humid conditions and has been manufactured in accordance with the requirements of OSB4 as defined in EN 300. It contains no core gaps or hollow pockets and is CE marked in accordance with the harmonised standard EN 13986.

Uflex and Uflex MINI
With the launch of its first range of underfloor heating, Grant UK has introduced the Uflex and Uflex MINI which consists of systems to suit both the new build and retrofit markets. Both systems are said to be easy to install and use the same manifold.
Evenly distributing heat upwards into a room, the systems maintain optimum room temperatures while also helping the heat source, such as an Aerona³ air source heat pump, to work as efficiently as possible. The Uflex system is embedded within the floor construction and is ideally suited for new builds and extensions. The Uflex MINI system, meanwhile, can be installed over an existing floor and is specifically designed to suit retrofits and renovations.

A new family of products for its OSB brand has been developed by Norbord and comprises SterlingOSB Zero 3, SterlingOSB Zero Tongue and Groove, SterlingOSB Zero SiteCoat, SterlingOSB Zero Fire Solutions and SterlingOSB Zero StrongFix. The precision-engineered OSB3 board is suitable for structural use in load-bearing and challenging conditions as well as in the aesthetics-led interior design industry.
BBA approved and designed for humid conditions, it now contains zero added formaldehyde and is said to be the only ZAF OSB manufactured in the UK.
Fibo UK
Fire rating
Fibo UK has achieved a Class 1 fire rating on its Grey Concrete, White Tile Silk and Titan bathroom wall panels. The classification relates to BS 467 Part 7: 1987, which looks at the distance and time it takes for flames to spread across a surface.
To achieve a Class 1 rating, the surface must prevent flames from spreading no morethan 165mm in 10 minutes. The rest of Fibo’s range has a comfortable Class 2 rating, where the spread of flame is no more than 215mm in the first 1½ minutes, with an overall spread of no more than 455mm.

Due to a sustained commitment to significantly reducing its carbon footprint, XL Joinery has been officially recognised and certified as a Carbon Neutral company. The accreditation, awarded by The Carbon Trust, follows a number of initiatives to reduce its carbon emissions including a new six-acre warehouse and office site in Birstall, West Yorkshire which boasts “maximum warmth with minimum heat loss”, contributing towards a 46% reduction in gas usage.
Other actions include purchasing eco-friendly vehicles, phasing out gas-powered forklift equipment for electrically powered units and re-structuring its Waste Management Programme, segregating and recycling cardboard and low-density polyethylene (LDPE plastics).

Featuring a Silgranit PuraDur finish, Blanco has introduced the Faron XL 6 S large sink. The unit comprises a generous bowl with a draining board which features double grooves. The grooving in the surface enables water to run off and the Silgranit PuraDur finish prevents stains.
The sink contains a concealed C-overflow and is scratch, heat, acid and impact resistant. It is available in a range of colours including Alumetallic, Anthracite, Champagne, Coffee, Jasmin, Nutmeg, Pearl Grey, Rock Grey, Tartufo and White.

Enhancing its product portfolio, Häfele has announced the addition of a new range of AluSplash aluminium-based splashbacks. Available exclusively through Häfele in the UK, the range is an alternative to glass, acrylic and tiled splashbacks.
The wall panel and splashback have been designed to provide a seamless run of colour in the kitchen and are available in 10 metallic colours. They are also FIRA tested so are safe to use behind all cooktops, including gas, are 100% recyclable and the manufacturing process uses less energy to produce than glass alternatives.
