Following the success of the competition’s inaugural year in 2015, Plumb Center has joined forces with JT and Bristan to become a partner for the 2016 UK Plumber of the Year (@UKPOTY).
This year’s UK Plumber of the Year will launch on April 4th, when the search begins to find “the finest plumber of 2016”, rewarding them for their knowledge, service and passion towards fixing the nation’s bathrooms. Entrants can begin their journey to become the UK Plumber of the Year 2016 via a number of new, simple entry methods which will be revealed shortly.
After a number of strong entrants, 2015 saw Josh Colbert from Huntington, Cambridgeshire, win the award for not only his skills and industry knowledge, but for his true passion for the trade. Speaking of his win Josh commented: “Winning last year came as a complete shock, I couldn’t believe it when I got the call! I am so grateful for not only the reward itself and amazing prizes that came with it, but the fantastic media exposure I received which generated new opportunities for my business. This is something every plumber should get involved with in 2016.”
Paul Crossley, Managing Director of JT and the competition’s founder, said: “We are delighted that Plumb Center has signed up as a partner for this year’s UK Plumber of the Year competition. Having another fantastic partner on board will ensure the 2016 competition is an even greater success than last year.”
Ian Hansell, General Manager of Bristan, added: “We were delighted by the success of the launch last year and with the support of the UK’s leading suppliers of plumbing and heating products, this year will be even bigger and better.”
Richard Redfern, Category Director – Plumbing at Plumb Center, continued: “We are honoured to be part of the 2016 UK Plumber of the Year competition alongside JT and Bristan. We are looking forward to supporting the competition through our network of branches, sharing our knowledge and expertise and getting our broad network of plumbing customers involved in this great event.”
The competition will be judged by a panel of experts from JT, Bristan and Plumb Center. Plumbers will need to come armed with the tools and knowledge to show they’re worthy of being crowned the best in their field and winning the ultimate prize pot, which will be revealed in April.
