With a fleet of 12 vehicles, AW Lumb has recently added the second of two Loadmac 825iSR truck-mounted forklifts to join its operation in the last 12 months.
Loadmac is the only truck-mounted forklift designed and built entirely in the UK, with production of the machine completed at the company’s factory in Ross on Wye. First launched in 2011, Loadmac is rapidly gaining traction in the UK market, with approved sales and service dealers supporting the company nationally.
Martin Keay, Director at AW Lumb, explained his reasons for choosing Loadmac: “Firstly, the truck mounted forklift concept works incredibly well for our business. It gives us higher volume and payload on the vehicle and we attribute around 3-4mpg fuel saving when compared to using a mounted crane.
Martin continued: “Looking specifically at Loadmac, it’s a very good piece of equipment and the only machine in its class which has the reach to genuinely be able to offload the vehicle from one side. We work in some inner city and confined areas, and that’s a huge plus for us.”
With a lifting capacity of 2500kg and reach of 3600mm, Loadmac Sales and Marketing Manager, Chloe Hignett, believes the 825iSR is unrivalled in its class, remarking: “It’s great to hear Martin highlight this feature as we believe it’s just one of the ways the product sets itself apart from the competition. For customers working in urban or roadside areas, to be able to unload from one side gives them a unique operational advantage.”
With the Loadmac forklifts twelve and six months into operation with AW Lumb, Martin concluded: “It’s early days in using the Loadmac machines, but we’re very impressed so far: it’s a reliable, hard-working piece of kit which gets the job done. And I can’t speak highly enough about the back-up we get from our local dealer too.”
