Bartoline launches ‘over the counter’ trade range

Bartoline, the well-known decorating products brand, has launched a new over the counter trade range called ‘1876 The Professional Range’.

With the name chosen to reflect the company’s inception date, the ‘1876 The Professional Range’ is a comprehensive suite of professional quality decorating supplies with an initial 32 SKUs covering white spirits, powder fillers, ready-mix filler, plaster skim, wallpaper adhesives, caulk, adhesives and sanitary and frame sealants.

Already a trusted UK decorative sundries supplier, Bartoline says it is now applying its product development expertise and production capability to create a reformulated range of trade quality products at competitive prices.

MD Paul Robbins said, “Bartoline’s target market for the new range is professional decorators and over the counter trade sales.  For the builders’ merchant, the ‘1876 The Professional Range’ establishes Bartoline as a single source for a comprehensive range of decorating supplies with all the efficiencies that provides. It’s an exciting move to build on Bartoline’s strengths.”

Paul points to efficiency benefits for merchants from having a single point of contact, single invoice, and same pallet delivery for a wide range of decorating supplies. Moreover, developed and manufactured in the UK at the company’s two Beverley production plants close to the M62 – one of which is said to have the largest production capacity for liquid filling in Europe – Bartoline states it can provide merchants with “reassuring certainty of supply”.

He added: “At a time when international shipments are subject to unprecedented pressures, being based in the UK has enabled Bartoline to achieve a track record of meeting over 97% of customer retail orders on time and in full over the last 12 months.  We shall provide that same high-quality service to our trade customers.”

Bartoline has invested in distinctive ‘1876 The Professional Range’ branding and a marketing campaign to launch the range to decorators and the building trade. Recruited from Harris Brushes, Rebecca Airey has also been appointed as Trade Account Director to lead Bartoline’s trade team of regional sales managers who will liaise with merchants’ buyers throughout the UK.

Finally, there are advanced plans to add additional products to the core trade range over the next 18 months.
