Coating specialists Bradite will launch what is claimed to be the market’s fastest drying floor paint at this year’s Painting and Decorating Show in November.
Floor-it is a single pack product that is re-coatable in just one hour. Formulated for use in light to medium-traffic situations it is ideal for factory walkways and general shopfloor usage where speed of completion is a major consideration. The nearest competitor floor paints are said to offer re-coating times of between four and eight hours.
The water-based paint has no odour and is suitable for use internally or externally on appropriately prepared concrete, wood, metal, or asphalt floors. It can also be used on polyeurethane, epoxy and chlorinated rubber coated floors.
The semi-gloss finish dries very hard with strong adhesion. Applied by either spray, brush or roller, it reportedly has a coverage, depending on the porosity of the substrate, of up to 11 square metres per litre.
“Floor-it builds on the successful launch last year of One Can,” says Bradite National Sales Manager James Burton. “It’s one-hour re-coat time means that a job can be finished in a working day giving a tough surface that is easy to clean.”
Bradite recommends two coats of Floor-it for an existing floor or one thinned and two standard coats for a newly laid floor. Tests have shown that the tough finish can withstand so-called hot-tyre pickup where coatings can blister if driven over by a rubber-tyred vehicle.
Floor-it is available in a full range of Bradite Floor Paint colours; RAL, British Standard and NCS. And it can also be used with the company’s Low Slip Additives LS29 or LS30 to provide additional underfoot grip.
