Brett Martin was delighted to welcome and host National Buying Group merchant members from across the UK at its Mallusk manufacturing site in Northern Ireland.
Following an informative presentation on Brett Martin’s current initiatives, the UK merchants were given an inside look at the company’s operations and witness first-hand products such as drainage pipes and fittings being made in its impressive manufacturing facility.
The NBG group also learned about the investment the leading drainage manufacturer is making in reducing its carbon footprint and the tour included a walk past its 100m-tall wind turbine which, together with the solar farm, contributes to 50% of the overall energy consumption on site.
Chris Dawson, Sales Director at Brett Martin, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome merchant members to our Mallusk facility. We believe success in the building materials market is all about people, and investing in relationships is important to us. Through NBG, we’ve been able to strengthen our ties to the independent merchant market and we look forward to continuing to provide members with superior products and excellent service.”
Following lunch, the members headed to the renowned Titanic Visitor Centre in Belfast and capped off the day learning about the iconic vessel’s construction, its ill-fated maiden voyage and place in history.
David Santi, Managing Director at NBG partner McNair Building Supplies in Glasgow, commented: “It was great to meet everyone and see the factories in action. The visit to the Titanic Visitor Centre was very interesting and dinner in the Chairman’s Office at the Titanic Hotel finished off a perfect day with great food, lovely wine and in the company of friends.”
