Carhartt adds new merchant stockists

Isaac Lord in High Wycombe and the Ellon branch of GPH Builders Merchants are among the merchant business to recently open up new in-store display areas to showcase Carhartt’s workwear collection.

Founded in 1889 in Detroit, Michigan, the Carhartt brand has been well-known in the USA and beyond for more than 130 years. The workwear manufacturer has recently been looking to increase its focus in the UK, opening an office in Newark and aiming to grow its number of merchant stockists via its UK field sales team.

Also first established in the late 19th Century, Isaac Lord opened in High Wycombe in 1892 initially with the intention to supply the growing furniture-making industry in the local district.

Of the new display area taken on by the merchant, Carhartt’s UK Country Manager Nick Poulson said: “We are delighted that Isaac Lord has created this space in store, as it generates real excitement around the clothing. It really shows that with our workwear you can protect yourself and still look great on site – and when it’s time to go home and relax it’s perfect too. The in-store display lets customers feel the quality of the clothing and make that purchase.”

GPH, meanwhile, recently created an in-store Carhartt workwear display at its Ellon branch in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, featuring a selection of trousers, safety boots, jackets and mid layers including hoodies and sweatshirts.

Nick commented: “We are delighted that GPH has created the in-store point of sale in the Ellon branch – it shows off our collection so well. We would like to talk with other merchants on stocking Carhartt and bringing our famous brand to their customers like this, with fantastic point of sale which generates excitement and encourages sales.”
