Champion Timber has invested in two new 7.2 tonne Iveco curtain-sided lorries with 5.1 metre beds. The investment will reportedly bring significant benefits to both Champion staff and to customers receiving the delivered materials.
Wet weather can pose a problem when transporting timber due to rain damage, however, the new lorries will provide a drier, more protected way of transporting materials, ensuring quality is not compromised. As well as advantages for customers, the new vehicles will also benefit staff as the curtain-sided openings enable yard staff to load and unload deliveries with ease and increased safety.
Martin Roberts, Transport Manager at Champion Timber, commented: “The new lorries are a big investment for Champion and the benefits should prove to be great. After receiving our FORS bronze accreditation we wanted to continue to find even more ways in which we could improve our safety and services when transporting goods.”
