Drayton celebrates 75th anniversary with Made in Britain accreditation

Drayton continues to mark its 75th year in business with a host of sustainability milestones, and by securing Made in Britain accreditation.

The Made in Britain Registered Trademark is designed to help buyers identify products made in the UK. As 2025 begins, Drayton is celebrating securing the accreditation for the products made at its factory in Plymouth – such as the iconic TRV4, motorised values and other well-loved heating controls, which will all now feature the Made in Britain label.

As part of parent company Schneider Electric’s global network of sustainable businesses, Drayton has placed great focus on creating sustainable manufacturing and operations at its Plymouth site, which has operated as Zero to Landfill, going over and above IOS14001, for the past nine years.

As evidenced since 2017, effective energy management has reduced the carbon footprint of the factory from over 600 tonnes to just under 50. This has been achieved through the purchase of 100% green energy, efficient gas heating and various other energy efficiency projects. This includes the introduction of a new variable-output air compressor and smart energy monitoring via EcoStruxure.

Additionally, the heating controls manufacturer continues to run Single Use Plastic initiatives, sourcing more sustainable alternatives for the production and packaging of its popular products.

Alongside Drayton’s Made in Britain accreditation, Schneider has also been awarded for its “stellar sustainability credentials,” winning Most Sustainable Company of 2024 as named by TIME and Statista. The win saw the company pip the likes of NEC Corp, Siemens, PayPal, HP and Microsoft to the post.

Jeremy Palmer, General Manager at Drayton, said: “Celebrating our 75th year with these significant milestones further establishes Drayton’s commitment to innovation. From reducing our carbon footprint to achieving our prestigious Made in Britain accreditation, we are so proud to be leading the way in sustainable manufacturing, and hopefully empowering households to become more energy efficient along the way too.

“With that, we want to say a big thank you to all the installers and customers that have supported us over the years.”

Drayton is partnering with City Plumbing to reward installer loyalty by offering two lucky winners a pair of corporate hospitality tickets to the Six Nations’ Wales v Ireland match, on February 22nd 2025.

In the month of January, installers purchasing more than £50 worth of Drayton product from City Plumbing, either online or in store, will be entered into a draw to win the tickets to the highly anticipated game at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, along with overnight accommodation on the evening of the match.

The giveaway marks the continued celebrations of Drayton’s 75th anniversary, which has seen the launch of its new installer loyalty programme, Drayton Rewards+. Replacing Drayton’s 9º Network, the new and improved loyalty programme has been designed to give installers even more; from perks and points, through to being part of a community of like-minded heating engineers and electricians.
