In 2019, Drayton is not only celebrating its 70th anniversary but is also marking 25 years of its Digistat range of heating controls.
Since its launch in 1994, the Digistat range has seen a host of changes and new features added. This includes an electronics upgrade and refreshed industrial design, which was implemented in 2004, leading to the creation of the Digistat+2/3 and Digistat+2RF/3RF. Additionally, an advanced algorithm was added to the software in 2011 resulting in the on/off load compensation feature installers know today.
When the Digistat range was expanded to include RF variants, this was designed to provide installers with a solution requiring less work. The Digistat receiver for these wireless products works on the industry standard wallplate meaning no rewiring is necessary. This delivers a cost-effective installation where there is no need to lift carpets or floorboards, resulting in minimum disruption for the homeowner.
Most recently, Drayton launched the Digistat Si variant, which was developed to meet the demands of Local Authority contracts. The Si variant features a flexible service interval mode with three options and adjustable warning periods, ensuring that local authorities are able to carry out essential maintenance on a regular basis.
Remi Volpe, Managing Director at Drayton, said: “To this day, the Digistat remains one of our best-selling heating controls and, thanks to our iterative design approach it has been able to withstand the test of time. Whether it’s been developing a wireless version that offers heating engineers hassle-free installation or meeting the changing requirements of the heating industry, the research and development capabilities here at our Plymouth facility allow us to remain at the forefront of the market.
“25 years is an incredible milestone for any product to reach and our ongoing development is set to continue. We have some exciting updates to the Digistat range yet to come in the future.”
To celebrate 25 years of the Digistat, the Digistat+RF room thermostat and Digistat+3RF programmable room thermostat are currently on offer at selected independent merchants.
