Duftons Plumbing and Heating Supplies has held a Charity Trade Week, in aid of Candlelighters, a children’s Cancer charity.
The charity aims to support children and their families throughout Yorkshire who are affected by Childhood Cancer.
The incredible fundraising saw colleagues participate in head shaves, pie face challenges, car washes as well as holding a grand raffle. From customers baking cakes for bake sales, through to guessing the number of pipes in a bucket, there was something for all customers to get involved with at each one of its seven branches located in Leeds, Beeston, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Castleford, Halifax and Harrogate.
Duftons also donated a percentage of sales on some items to the charity, and agreed they would match whatever its stores managed to raise. This meant that in total, Duftons has raised an incredible £20,000 for Candlelighters.
Nigel Fowler, Managing Director of Duftons Plumbing and Heating Supplies, said: “We are delighted to have raised such an incredible amount for Candlelighters and I can only thank our staff, suppliers and most of all our customers for embracing the event and taking generosity to the next level. We are very proud of our achievement and know what a difference it will make in helping support families in what must be an extremely difficult time in their lives.”
Amy Harrison, Corporate Fundraiser for Candlelighters, added: “We are absolutely overwhelmed by the amount raised by Duftons Plumbing and Heating Supplies, and would like to sincerely thank them, all of their staff and customers for an incredible week of fundraising. It was my pleasure to visit all of the stores during the week, and it was inspiring to see the enthusiasm and creativity of the fundraising at each one! Fundraising like this enables us to support families affected by children’s cancer across Yorkshire.”
