Elliotts has announced it has won two awards at the National Family Business Awards 2018, which took place on Saturday 14th July at Wembley Stadium.
The ceremony saw hundreds of family businesses come together from across the country, with Elliotts taking home the Family Business of the Year award for the South-East region and Chairman, Stuart Mason-Elliott, presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Stuart was recognised after impressing judges with his commitment to the building industry and his charitable efforts.
Stuart said: “It’s a great honour to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. As the fifth generation of the Elliotts family I’m really proud of how our materials and advice have helped build the South Coast.
“Cycling is a huge passion of mine which is why I founded Challenge Adventure Charities in 1996. Since then we’ve raised over £4million for numerous charities as well as getting hundreds of people hooked on cycling!”
The awards have come at a crucial time for the builder’s merchant as it celebrates its 175th anniversary.
Sales and Marketing Director, Paul Cleary, who received the award for Family Business of the Year, added: “We have been helping Hampshire and Dorset build for the last 175 years and we’re still family owned. Our Managing Director, Tom Elliott, is the sixth generation to run the business. To be recognised for such a prestigious family accolade is very special.”
Elliotts was also shortlisted for Outstanding Contribution to the South Coast Region at the 2018 South Coast Business Awards.
