ERA has maintained its Secured by Design (SBD) license accreditation for a further three years, which the company hopes will highlight its commitment to crime prevention in the home.
SBD is the national police crime prevention initiative which aims to help people live in a safer society and to improve the physical security of homes. As a SBD licensed company, ERA has a range of hardware solutions to meet the appropriate security requirements in accordance with the scheme.
To qualify for SBD accreditation, ERA has to prove that its products are sufficiently robust to resist physical attack by casual and opportunist burglars. The products must also be certified by an independent, third party, UK Accreditation Service (UKAS) certification authority. This standard involves initial testing of products, regular re-testing and production of audits to ensure standards are maintained over time as opposed to being tested once only.
ERA’s Head of Marketing, Tania Tams, explained: “Being able to incorporate the coveted Secured by Design logo alongside our many other security-related accreditations, is very important to us. Many homeowners now look for the Secured by Design logo on products considering it just as important as the BSI Kite Mark which everyone associates with quality, trusted products. We are very proud that a range of our ERA and Fab & Fix products have earned Secured by Design status.”
Commenting on behalf of Secured by Design, Development Officer, Sara Giles, added: “I am very pleased that ERA is renewing its membership with Secured by Design, it’s great to see such a large company continuing its work with us in order to make people and places safer. It really shows the value of the scheme and I feel sets a standard and encourages others in the industry to follow suit.”
