Geberit has achieved certification from the British Board of Agrément (BBA) for its Silent-PP drainage system.
The enhanced certification confirms Geberit Silent-PP to be compliant with English, Welsh, Scottish and Northern Irish building regulations. In addition, all the rigorous testing is carried out to EN standards contained within all building regulations.
According to the company, Silent-PP is a range of easy to install and acoustically optimised push fit drainage pipes and fittings. Made from mineral reinforced polypropylene, the physical properties of the material achieve first-class acoustics optimisation, effectively reducing natural vibrations and noise. The BBA’s rigorous assessment also included strength, performance of joints, resistance to elevated temperatures and durability.
BBA certification is recognised as one of the most trusted marks of quality, safety and reliability within the construction industry. The BBA’s testing and assessment process includes laboratory tests, on-site evaluations, quality management checks and inspections of production before awarding a product or system with an Agrément Certificate.
Discussing the certificate, Greg Austin, Assistant Product Manager at Geberit said: “We’re delighted that Silent-PP has been awarded BBA certification. Third party certification for drainage products is important within the construction industry and BBA certification is widely recognised as an important mark of quality assurance. We have been working closely with the BBA to ensure we are providing our customers with innovative solutions which meet the highest quality and safety standards.”
