George Lines (part of the Lords Builders Merchants Group) has opened a new site in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. The site is located just off Gatehouse Road near to the Gatehouse Industrial Estate. George Lines has been established in Heathrow for over 60 years and was acquired by Lords in 2016 from Commercial Director Mark Bone.
Mark commented: “The opening of a second Branch of George Lines marks a watershed for the brand. When I sold the business to Lords I wanted the business to grow under new ownership. Since the sale, the company has only grown organically and now with a second branch is a testament to the commitment of Lords to the brand.”
The site in Aylesbury is part of Kings Langley Builders Merchants which Lords acquired in September 2018. It will be the first dual brand site for Lords as both George Lines and Lords Builders Merchants will be operating from the same location. George Lines will be holding an open day at the site on the 5 September to showcase the new site.
Lords Builders Merchants & George Lines MD Richard Perkins commented: “The opening of a second branch is part of the overall strategy of Lords to grow organically as well as through acquisitions. Aylesbury is an area that is seeing a substantial level of house building and this branch will be serving the Civils and Ground Work contractors who require a trusted local supplier”
The branch opening follows a substantial re-furbishment of the Lords Park Royal Branch in London and the acquisition of Huntingdon Timber by Hevey Building Supplies part of the Lords Group.
Lords CEO Shanker Patel added: “The Lords Group is delivering on its commitment to grow the business to be a leading supplier within the merchant industry. Our investments in building our team is enabling the Group to achieve its long term goals and I am grateful to all our colleagues for their commitment and hard work.”
