Welsh independent builders’ merchant EDAF Building Supplies has joined h&b’s Development Group in a move described as “marking a significant milestone in the company’s development.”
Catering to the needs of builders and contractors in the trade community in Llanysul, Dyfed, EDAF Building Supplies offers a comprehensive range of products, including timber, insulation, roofing materials and more. Having become the latest member of the h&b Development Group, the firm will now benefit from a raft of h&b buying deals and business support to help it grow and develop further.
EDAF is currently progressing an ambitious expansion plan, acquiring and refurbishing a site previously used by a national merchant chain to “create a modern, independent mixed merchant for the local community.” Deals with h&b suppliers will help stock the new depot, building on the merchant’s existing heavyside expertise in civils and timber.
Emyr Davies, a Director of EDAF Building Supplies, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating: “We are delighted to be joining the h&b family. In addition to the outstanding deals, we are confident that joining h&b will provide us access to the best brands in the building industry, and we have already been impressed with the advice, tips and support we have received from the h&b team.”
The h&b Development Group was launched to offer smaller merchants an established pathway to growth and full group membership. By leveraging a comprehensive set of deals, along with support and guidance from h&b and its partners, members of the h&b Development Group can significantly increase their turnover and margins, ultimately achieving the necessary milestones to transition into the main group.
This “unique initiative” within the merchant sector has already facilitated the successful graduation of several merchants from the scheme into the main h&b group, acting as a “proven pathway to growth” and “empowering merchants to increase turnover and margin.”
