HB Supplies, the Leicestershire-based building, drainage and landscape supplier, is proudly celebrating its 15th anniversary this year and the family-run business is marking the occasion by launching a series of new own-branded products from its new site at the River Sidings estate in Naborough.
The business was started by Neil Hibbert in 2008, who took his 20 years of building and civil engineering expertise and started a business specialising in building, drainage and highways infrastructure. HB quickly began catering for Local Authorities across the East Midlands, including extensive work for Leicestershire County Council and City Council.
As the business grew, it expanded its product offering to further cater for civil engineering, groundworks, construction, house building, utilities and DIY. And over the years, the business also added landscape supplies to its roster, making it a one-stop-shop for any project.
Neil’s two sons, James and Jacob, and his wife, Claire, all now work for the business.
Neil commented: “We are immensely proud of how far we’ve come over the past 15 years and the business we have worked hard to build as a family. We have had our ups and downs, and it has been a steep learning curve but even so, I believe we have become a well-established local brand because of our expertise within the drainage and highways sector, who are relied on for our knowledge and reliability.”
The business moved premises in 2020 to its River Sidings site. The new, large space opened up multiple new revenue streams including a show area for landscaping products, including specialist porcelain paving, and a warehouse to support its e-commerce product sales operations.
Neil continued: “In recent years we have had a huge push on our own-branded products, such as Flood Crates, Easi-Chambers inspection chambers, Easi-Roll paving products and more – many of which we are the sole distributor of in the UK. We foresaw the shift to more sustainable drainage and building methods over the past few years and have capitalised in the rise of environmentally friendly engineering products, which has given our business a huge boost.”
As part of its 15th year in trading, the business is expanding once again with the introduction of composite building materials to its product range. HB Supplies now specialises in composite cladding, roofing, fencing, verandas and housing extensions plus modular construction boards and panels making the business one of the biggest suppliers of composite construction materials in the Midlands.
Neil said: “We are extremely excited for what the future holds for HB. We are a close-knit team and are always looking for new ways to expand and grow our knowledge. With our latest exclusive products, we will become one of the top distributors of composite products in the country; which is an amazing prospect for us. Here’s to the next 15 years!”
