Huws Gray has recently donated £25,000 to the UK Sepsis Trust.
After launching a new charity partnership with the UK Sepsis Trust in 2017, Huws Gray have been busy raising awareness and essential funds by taking part in a variety of events and coffee mornings held at different branches.
Huws Gray’s donation was made through The UK Sepsis Trust’s recent campaign in association with Lord Ashcroft where every £1 raised is matched up to £250,000.
The recent donation from Huws Gray and future funds raised will help the UK Sepsis Trust to raise awareness, train and educate health professionals about Sepsis, as well as to help families who have experienced its destructive force.
Dr Ron Daniels BEM, Chief Executive of the UK Sepsis Trust, commented: “Sepsis has a devastating human cost. Every day in the UK, individuals and families have their lives torn apart by the condition, but better awareness and education for healthcare professionals could save thousands of lives each year.
“It’s the extraordinary generosity of supporters like Huws Gray that allow us to continue the fight against sepsis. It’s a privilege to work with Huws Gray, and we’d like to say a huge thank you from everyone at the UK Sepsis Trust for such a significant contribution. Together we can change the way sepsis is handled in the UK.”
Huws Gray Managing Director, Terry Owen, said: “We’re delighted to be able to donate £25,000 to the UK Sepsis Trust and this is a charity very close to our hearts after the loss of one of our directors Elfed Hughes. We hope the funds we raise throughout the year will make a difference and help the UK Sepsis Trust with their future goals and challenges.
Dafydd Hughes (Elfed Hughes’s son and Huws Gray employee) concluded: “We thoroughly enjoy working with the UK Sepsis Trust and its representatives, we think it’s essential to raise awareness of this serious illness as it affects so many lives every year. We’re delighted we can support Sepsis Trust UK as a legacy to my father.
“We hope all our employees, customers and suppliers can help us raise as much essential funding and raise awareness of this serious illness throughout the year.”
Other fundraising activities scheduled for the remainder of 2017 include Zip Wire, Sky Dive and other events and challenges.
