A brave Huws Gray employee, Michael Davis, a HGV driver from the Heswall branch, achieved what others can only dream of on the 13th of October by reaching the Everest Base Camp.
Whilst most people enjoy a relaxing holiday in the sun, Michael Davis went for a slightly different option by taking on the Everest Base Camp in Nepal at an altitude of 5,364 metres (17,598 ft.). The trek is a really tough one, and not exactly short with it being over 120Km (75 miles).
Michael Davis commented on his success: “What a fantastic experience, it felt unbelievable to finally reach the base camp. The trek was really tough at times, but when you have a goal in mind you fight it out and get there. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and I’m really glad I’ve done it. Thanks to all my family, friends and colleagues for supporting me throughout the training and the trek.”
Congratulations to Michael from everyone at Huws Gray – we really hope it’s a little easier for you on the way down!
