The Huws Gray Group is continuing its ambitious growth plans with the acquisition of West Lothian-based merchant, Brick and Stone (Scotland).
Established in 1999 and based at a single location in Broxburn, Brick and Stone (Scotland) supplies a wide range of facing and reclaimed bricks, blocks, and walling and the branch will join the Group’s already established network of Specialist Brick Centres in Llay and Warrington.
Eddie Hernon, Managing Director of Huws Gray Group company PDM Buildbase, said: “We are delighted to add our first specialist brick centre in Scotland and are truly optimistic for what the future holds. To acquire a company with such a specialised focus presents a great opportunity to deepen our knowledge of this category and grow our business within the region.”
Mark Findlay, Director of Brick and Stone (Scotland), added “We are excited for the future and, along with fellow director Ian White, we look forward to remaining with the business and supporting the next phase of growth. It’s very much business as usual as we look to improve stock levels with the support of the group.”
Founded in 1990 from a single branch in Anglesey, the Huws Gray Group has rapidly expanded over the past 30 years, through both organic growth and acquisitions. It now operates at over 100 trading locations and employs over 1,700 colleagues across the Group. Following the acquisition of the Grafton Group plc’s GB merchanting businesses, the Group now includes Buildbase, PDM Buildbase, Civils and Lintels (C&L), NDI, The Timber Group, Bathroom Distribution Group, Lloyd Worrall.
