Ibstock has announced its new sales structure with a number of senior appointments to the commercial leadership team within its clay division.
The new structure has been created to adapt to the changing market conditions and provide clear, high quality and efficient service to customers. The sales force will be structured into three core teams – Builders Merchants, Direct Distribution and Direct National House Builders – to give clear focus on specific routes to market and deliver tailored support.
In addition to the core teams, a dedicated ‘Specification team’ will be focusing on developing relationships with Architects to further strengthen Ibstock’s position in specification and distribution.
The team will be headed up by Phil Yates, who joined Ibstock in August to take up the role of Sales and Commercial Director for the division. Phil has over 40 years of industry experience, including over 20 years with EH Smith where he spent the last 12 years as Managing Director. His extensive knowledge and experience in delivering strategic growth and developing sales teams will help build on Ibstock’s market leading position, further enhance the company’s service offering and implement a more customer-centric and market-led approach.
Also joining the new team is Steve Williamson, who has been appointed Sales Director – Direct Distribution. Steve has 25 years of brick industry experience across both manufacturing and distribution in senior management positions, most recently as Sales Director at Taylor Maxwell for the past 4 years.
The rest of the senior sales positions have been filled through internal appointments and promotions. Simon Taylor has been promoted to a new role of Commercial Director – Builders Merchants and will be supported by Jane Edwards who has been promoted to Sales Director – Builders Merchants. Kate Guy has been appointed as Sales Director – National House Builders and Andy Batterham will take responsibility for the Specification team in a new role of Design and Specification Director. Matt Guy has been appointed as Key Account Director responsible for Key Account customers within the Distribution Team.
Completing the new look commercial leadership team is Richard Brown, who has joined Ibstock as Marketing Director for the clay division. Richard brings with him extensive marketing and product management experience within the construction and manufacturing industry having spent more than 15 years at Wienerberger UK.
