LBS Builders’ Merchants has completed the acquisition of Talbot Timber, its largest acquisition to date.
Talbot Timber has been supplying the construction industry across West Wales for over 35 years from four branches in Pembrokeshire. As a family-owned business, built upon strong partnerships with its customers and local community, it is said to provide a perfect fit for LBS, which is founded on the same principles.
Three branches in Haverfordwest, Milford Haven & Tenby have been rebranded LBS, with an expanded range of products and will trade within its existing branch network. Customers in West Wales will have a ‘bigger & better’ LBS presence, delivering improved choice and service levels.
Talbot Timber also has an established timber engineering & sheet material business based in Pembroke Dock, supplying engineered roof trusses, Pozi joists, and timber across South Wales and into the West Country. This part of the business will trade independently of the LBS branch network, supplying its customer base of builders’ merchants, joinery businesses and regional developers/contractors.
As a consequence of this acquisition, the enlarged LBS Group now consists of:-
- 15 Builders Merchants branches
- 8 specialist Plumbing & Heating Merchant branches
- 7 specialist Kitchen & Bathroom showrooms
- 1 specialist Roofing Merchant branch
- 1 specialist Civils Merchant branch
- 1 specialist Timber Engineering & Timber Merchant
