LBS Builders Merchants has completed the acquisition of Mendhams Building Supplies of Aberdare. The new branch is the first for LBS in the Welsh Valleys — its 16th location across South & West Wales.
The large site will be re-developed over the next three months to include the additional four LBS trading brands, Total Plumbing (specialist plumbing & heating merchant), Casey’s Roofing (specialist roofing merchant), Civils (specialist civils engineering merchant) and a Middleton Kitchen & Bathroom showroom.
Aberdare will be the first branch to include all four of the specialist divisions on one site, and will be marketed as ‘Cynon Valley’s Complete Supply Solution’.
Managing Director, Mark Davies, said “I am delighted to have come to an agreement with Alan Jones for his business, with its excellent reputation. Our redevelopment of the site when complete, with the breadth and level of stock held, will give customers an unrivalled level of customer service. We will be creating an additional thirteen jobs in Aberdare (eighteen in total) and I have been delighted with the response from the local community, with over 180 visitors at a recent Job Fair”.
