Lords Group Trading companies George Lines Civils & Landscape Merchants and Condell Ltd have each recently opened new depots – George Lines in Horsham, and Condell in Lords Kings Langley.
Firstly, George Lines Civils & Landscape Merchants has announced the opening of its first depot ‘South of the river’ with a new branch in Horsham. Founded in 1949, the depot is reportedly the first civils merchants in the area and the new location will expand the company’s current delivery area by ensuring easy access to counties in the south.
Tim Holton, Group Acquisition & Integration Director at Lords Group Trading, said: “This will be George Lines’ third branch in addition to the existing branches at Colnbrook and Aylesbury and will enable us to offer a faster and more efficient service to sites in Surrey, Sussex, and Kent. George Lines has been trading for over 70 years in the Civils industry and the new branch offers us the opportunity to further grow its already established reputation for service and expertise.”
The new Condell branch at Lords Kings Langley, meanwhile, marks the company’s first location North of the river. Founded in 2006, Condell is nationwide building supplies distributor, currently operating from Horsham, West Sussex. In April 2021, Lords acquired the majority shareholdings in Condell and has since worked in partnership to supply tradespeople and merchants.
The new branch in Kings Langley offers a full range of specialist products such as Velux roof windows, Catnic and IG steel lintels, drylining, drainage, and insulation.
With huge experience in the industry, Branch Manager Michael Curley and his team will support new and old customers in Hertfordshire.
Jim McMeckan, Condell Director, commented: “We are delighted to have foothold in Hertfordshire. This is an exciting opportunity to take the business to the next level and further our collaboration with suppliers. I would like to thank our partners at Lords for working closely with us to open the new branch. We are looking forward to servicing customers in Hertfordshire and surrounding areas with specialist building materials.”
Condell was established in 2006 operating mainly as an online business. Today it has two branches South and West of London, 18 employees and a turnover of £9.5m.
