Family-run plumbing and heating merchant, Mirage Heating & Plumbing Supplies, has joined National Buying Group.
The Tooting-based business serves much of South-West London, providing a wide range of plumbing and heating supplies, including boilers, smart controls and underfloor heating technology. Having previously been a long-standing member of another buying group, the leadership team at Mirage did not take the decision to switch lightly, however recent developments that “impacted Mirage’s bottom line prompted the decision to change.”
NBG’s Head of New Partner Development and Recruitment, Phil Bonar, was already aware of Mirage because other Partners had recommended that he reach out. He said: “It was clear from my first meeting that Mirage was a good match for NBG. The people take their business seriously so we’re sure they’re going to thrive as NBG Partners.”
Raj Bharje, Director at Mirage, noted: “Joining NBG has been great. Everything is very transparent with them, so you really know what you’re getting. The whole process has been new and exciting for us and we’re already buying better.”
Mirage is the seventh independent merchant to become an NBG Partner this year and the fifth specialist heating and plumbing merchant, joining Fairfield, Plumb4Less, Valves Instruments Plus Ltd (VIP), and MPH.
In the days following Mirage becoming official NBG Partners, Raj revealed that Suppliers reached out to welcome the business. He revealed: “Suppliers were very quick to let us know about the quality deals we can get now that we’re with NBG. There are a number of Suppliers we haven’t worked with before and soon sent their salespeople to come in and visit us. That really shows the respect they have for NBG and the quality of Supplier relationships.”
Phil added: “It’s not unusual for merchants that come from other groups to be impressed by the buying power of NBG and the strong relationships we’ve been able to foster over the years. This is an exciting new chapter in the Mirage story and we’re looking forward to helping them buy better and play our part in improving their business.”
